I have always gravitated to the earth and landscape for my subject matter. I am compelled by the vistas I see as I travel, looking out a car or train window. I am experimenting with incorporating a sense of motion, speed, and the passage of time in my canvases. The element of speed blurs details and affects the compositions of the paintings. I am intrigued by the geometry and abstractions that emerge from this experience. The hand of mankind as well as the beauty of the natural world attract me. Color, and the power of light and space are what uplift and inspire me, and I hope to convey these fleeting moments to the viewer.
